The Psylla Pyri in pear tree with the Synerol Phytobiotic Product of MAFA

The phytobiotic product SYNEROL is a formulation based on emulsified vegetable oleins. It eradicates up to 73% of Psylla pyri in 14 days from the application without the need to use phytosanitary products as Acetamiprid 20% SP. This has been the conclusion of one of the last tests made by the team of MAFA agricultural engineers, always focusing on biotechnology as a tool to achieve products that solve the problems of farmers and their crops. Obviously, with natural, effective and sustainable solutions which guarantees the quality and the reliability of the food and raw materials.

The agronomy research and studies are realized to improve the products that used in agriculture. These researches are very important to achieve sustainable and environmentally respectful agriculture. For instance the pear tree is very susceptible to suffer from pests and diseases; one of the most common is Psylla pyry. It is a pest, which affects pear trees seriously, by weakening the tree, and it causes deformations and stones in the pear fruits, which can spoil the whole harvest.

The Psylla pyri larvae goes through the 5 stages of development. To avoid this, Synerol proves to be a good solution, even without using insecticides or any phytosanitary products.

THE TEST ON THE PSYLLA PYRI

The MAFA team conducted the test in order to verify the Synerol effectiveness and selectivity in a selection of pear trees in Corella (Navarra, Spain). Specifically, the tests were developed in 32 m2 of Pyrus communis, in pear trees disposed randomly and with an application volume of 1000 L/ha .

In the field test, six different treatments were carried out with different Synerol proportions such as Synerol combined with acetamiprid, acetamiprid, only water or no application. The MAFA team has realized the application of each treatment; they checked each tree and made a first impact assessment on the next day, regular controls on the second day, and the 14 days after application.

A SOLUTION FOR THE FARMER

Consequently, we can see graphically the results after the evaluation of the efficacy of the next day and the day 14. It shows the success rate the use of treatments and the comparison between all of them. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO VISUALIZE THEM WITH YOUR PHONE ON ITS HORIZONTAL POSITION.

EFFICACY OF SYNEROL WITH YOUNG LARVAE

  • SYNEROL 2,5 L/Ha ACETAMIPRID 22,5 g/Hl
  • SYNEROL 5 L/Ha ACETAMIPRID 22,5 g/Hl
  • SYNEROL 2,5 L/Ha
  • ACETAMIPRID 22,5 g/Hl

The conclusions were especially positive to prove the effectiveness of MAFA product:

  • For the control of young larvae, we have achieved to eliminate 82% of the pear tree larvae population in only one day with the application of Synerol 2,5 L/Ha and Acetamiprid 22,5 g/Hl.
  • Using only Synerol 2,5 L/Ha, we managed to reduce young larvae population down to 54%.
  • Increasing the proportion of Synerol up to 5 L/ha and maintaining Acetamiprid 22,5 g/Hl, we have controlled the 96% of young larvae population, even after the 14 days from the application.
  • In one day, Synerol 2,5 L/Ha had a 50% efficiency on the Psylla pyri adult population. The effectiveness increases to 73% for the elimination of the pest after 14 days from application.

EFFICACY OF SYNEROL WITH ADULT LARVAE

  • SYNEROL 2,5 L/Ha ACETAMIPRID 22,5 g/Hl
  • SYNEROL 5 L/Ha ACETAMIPRID 22,5 g/Hl
  • SYNEROL 2,5 L/Ha
  • ACETAMIPRID 22,5 g/Hl

In MAFA we are proud of our results, which help to optimize crops like pear tree. We know the Psyla is one of the biggest problems of farmers.  MAFA and his biotechnology laboratories works daily to achieve nature solutions.  The sustainable agriculture and a healthy diet are the priorities for MAFA Vegetal Ecobiology and our research to offer the best solutions to the future of agriculture will continue.
